Michigan with the Danceline

I am so lucky.  I have eight of the greatest friends ever, and one of them just happens to be my sister.  We've been friends for over 20 years now, and we make it a point to get together at least twice a year.  I think that is impressive dedication.  The kids and I were so excited to be home this summer and join in on the fun at the Riordan lake house in Michigan.
Here's our weekend in no particular order….

We love ISU! The ISU Danceline is what brought us together!

We didn't have a lot of sun, but we sure had a lot of fun. (Hehehehe…so bad…)
Can you see the determination on his face!?!  He was NOT going to let Danielle win.
Thank for taking her for a ride, Jenny.  Allison was missing her dad on the jet ski.

First, the boat was broken, and then the tube wasn't cooperating.  Clearly, Thomas is struggling with the wait time.

Tubing pics!  I think I took over 800.  I posted 12.  You're welcome!

These three are the most entertaining.  They aren't dramatic at all!
Allison's first time tubing!

Allison's face!  Oh my word is that so funny.  She is going to kill me, but I need to have it on the blog.   It's priceless.
She will like this one much better!

Our gaggle of kiddos.  We're just missing two.
The whole group (but missing Bill, Katy, and their kids.)
Time for family pics!
Thank you to Megan and Brian for sharing their family lake house with our group and making the weekend happen!  Best hosts ever!

Jason, Allison, and the girls
Kristie and her kiddos along with Nick.  We were thrilled to meet Nick and have him along for weekend
Jeremy, Nicole, and my precious niece and nephew.
We were missing someone very important in our picture.  We missed having Chris with us.  It won't be long and these two will be passing me up.  Geesh!
Danielle and Andy
Jenny, Ryan, and the girls

Sisters!
Allison is the oldest girl.  She takes the role very seriously!

Proud alumni!
Blue skies on Friday morning.  They lasted about an hour.  Bummer.
Soooo…we ran out of gas in the middle of the lake.
But, the neighbors rescued us by bringing gas out to our boat.  Thank you neighbors!

Farah and I were soaking up the sun!  I have to soak up as much as I can before going back to Belgium.

Happy Birthday to Allison!
I want a lake house when I grow up!
This is what we do, and it is so much fun!

And, when the mosquitos get too bad or the temperature drops too low, we sit inside until all hours of the night.

Oh Captain! My Captain!

Nicole was reading a funny list…I believe it was a list of random funny things you can do in public.  Stupid funny.  For instance, pull up to McDonalds and order a happy meal with extra happy.  Or, order at a drive thru and say it's "to go" and then repeat it two more times making sure they heard it was to go.  You get the point.  But, the funniest part was Nicole laughing at herself and this sigh she would do every time she read from the list.  You had to be there, but it was hilarious!  She makes me laugh.

Sun-kissed
And, of course there was dancing.  This year there was even a kick line.  Yes, we still have it. ;)
Thank you Megan and Brian for such a terrific weekend! We had the BEST time!
Just one week after I returned home, I logged on to FB to find this post.  It was one of those moments where I must have read that wrong.  I literally rubbed my eyes thinking it could not possibly be true.  This can't be him.  This is Kristie's Nick!  The Nick we just had the pleasure of meeting.  The Nick that made her smile like we haven't seen her smile in years.  And just like that, he was taken from her.  From us.  My heart is broken for her.  She told me she finally felt like she had found her forever.  It just doesn't seem fair.  I hope and pray that someday she will be able to find her forever again.  Until then, we will be there for our friend who only deserves all the love and happiness in this world.

They say things happen in threes.  Nick, Joal, and Jill.  There's my three.  Three is just way too many.  I know I was meant to be home this summer.  Without my trip home, I would not have had the opportunity to spend time with these three terrific people.  It has really been a sad month.  Continuing to pray for all those touched by my three friends.

Until next time,
Wendy
