Dear Wendy, Allison, and Thomas, Greetings from balmy central Illinois! I hear that the temperatures in Europe are plummeting, so it is good that you have each other to stay warm!! We have a German news program that airs each weekday on a PBS station, and they showed a group of tourists surrounding the famous statue of the little boy, but they said that it was much too cold for him to "do his thing!" Is the transportation strike still going? By the way, Angela Merkel said this week in Brussels that Germany was not going to lend anymore money. I wonder how all of those diplomats navigated the city during the strike!
